As ROHR Central London members came out of a branch meeting at the Strand Continental Hotel they were caught in a protest march of tens of thousands of people and were glad to join in as they made their way to the Vigil at Zimbabwe House. The protest on Saturday 20th June was against the government’s austerity programme involving cuts in welfare benefits to reduce the budget deficit. It attracted a huge crowd of protestors comprised of a diversity of people from different ethnicities, political parties, trade unionists, and civic organisations like ROHR Central London.
