This has been a busy week for ROHR Zimbabwe in UK. First the official launches of Birmingham Branch then the beginning of South East- Ashford Branch on Sun 13th September. The meeting took place, giving special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Munyemweri for arranging the venue and some refreshments.
ROHR is growing and support is coming from all corners of the world. It is a great comfort for people of Zimbabwe to know they are not suffering on their own. The human rights situation in Zimbabwe has got to change and soon. Our VIP speaker Mr Stendrick Zvorwadza (vice-president) who joined us from Zimbabwe a few days ago spoke to people about the situation in Zimbabwe . It was a great stimulation for people to listen and learn from someone who has suffered human rights abuses recently. As well as seeing this happening on a daily basis.
Mr Tapa gave an account of what activists in the UK are doing to help with projects taking place in Zimbabwe as part of ROHR. People expressed a lot of concerns in the deal signing between ZANU PF and MDC to take place on Monday. This is a great concern for people of Zimbabwe who are wandering what happened to democracy. There were long and motivational discussions, to encourage each other to keep fighting for the sake of people of Zimbabwe .
An interim committee was elected and the following appointed: Chairperson – Wellington Munyemweri, Secretary – Mrs Sibehla, Treasurer – Joice Masimba, Organizing Secretary – Lincolin Myambo, Information & Publicity – Roy Mushayahama, Fundraiser – Loveness Munyemweri
For the record 25 people attended.
